Life With Random Colors

I've been too busy to write today, so here are some random photos of today's colors.

'Srike It Rich'

'Our Lady of Guadalupe'

'Purple Iceberg'

'Belinda's Dream'

Yellow Irises starting to bloom along the front walkway

Salvia 'Blue Spires'

Rose season is also crawfish season. They like the exact same combination of day and night temperature ranges.

Sort of like eating boiled roaches.

Protein with eyeballs!

Hey, did I tell y'all I got new glasses?

They're kind of dark reddish burgundy. I like them, it's fun having two distinctly different pairs.

Happy little bouquets from the garden all over the house!

What a wonderful photo essay: such color!

No color much here yet, but most of the snow is gone: only patches between houses, which are like car canyons, good for moss and ferns in Summer.

New do: new glasses every time: new you: fuckin awesome!

Such beauty! I have one wee crocus blooming at present, and even that makes me euphoric.

How do you eat those crawfish? They look like they're full of small crunchy parts. Do you get at the insides somehow or just pop them in your mouth and chew?

Inquiring vegan minds really want to know. :) (call it food voyeurism, since I stopped eating things with legs before I got to most of the more interesting ones.)

I'm also waiting expectantly for workout details! Even now, when you're not up to your full punching weight, I would kill to have those arms you've got there. You are really someone to look up to, for this lightweight lifter.

mali.

Gorgeous flowers! I don't have a yard to speak of, but I'm waiting patiently for my little geraniums to bloom on my patio.

Liz, I remember you writing at grannyvibe about your experiences as member of a women's crew team. Over at Plastic this week, we're discussing the impact of Title IX on men's sports, and your contribution (as well as that of any of your readers, for that matter) would be welcome and valuable if you'd like to participate. One lonesome female poster and I are the only ones providing the female perspective in the discussion so far, and I think your experiences would make a compelling point should you choose to share them.

Crawfish are a lot like shrimp except that they taste a thousand times better. They're kinda like oral sex, most people are reluctant to try them the first time, but once they do, they can't ever get enough later. No crunchy parts like crabs, just spicy consistently smooth sweet meat.

Love the flowers and the new glasses. You look great! Now I need to find a tasty substitute for soy flour, as we're allergic to soy. Quinoa? Hmm...

Also, thanks for the idea of "building up" vs. tearing down. What a great, positive image as I'm trying to do just that (lose a few lbs, build strength)

Best wishes to you. May your port be gone forever.

love the purple roses. well all of them

the bag of crawfish was kind of freaking me out even before you called them "boiled roaches." yeah. Calvin Trillin and some other people have waxed lyrical about the wonderfulness of 'dads. i dunno there.
