Bad Day, Bad Week, Whatever

Ugh. Yesterday was a nightmare. Every cell in my body was on fire with pain, and my brain was lost in a deep dark pit way over the edge of some place you really don't ever want to go. This is Cymbalta withdrawal, and damn it's hell on wheels.

But I think today's going to be better.

Many thanks and apologies to all my patient abandoned guinea pigs, and others waiting to hear back from me on sundry matters. Hang on gang, my deep-fried brain and I will float back to the surface soon.

Geez, don't worry about us guinea pigs - we can just keep on truckin' around our various rodent wheels. I hope there are much better days for you in your very near future.

Hi,

Sorry things are so rough. Fingers and other appendages crossed that good days are near.

Oh dear. Do feel better soon.

And I couldn't even finish watching the video. First few flounders and I had to stop. It hurts my head worse than my headache to see people crashing like that and watch the snapping necks. Too many bad memories of the snowtubing crash of '79. Ouch.

Smooches...

Please don't apologize, it's just not even necessary (thus spake a guinea pig). I've just been hoping you are doing all right. I hope those bad days pick up.

I hate that you don't feel well. I wish there were some way we could all help each other share pain.

If each one of us took just one unit of your pain and carried it for you it wouldn't hurt so bad and we could fight collectively. If only...

I love your doggies and I'm happy they are there for you. You're in my prayers.

Seriously, do not worry about us guinea pigs, Liz. We just want you to do what you have to do to feel better/not quite as horrible.

Hope you're feeling a little better soon and that the thumb thing clears up.

Emerging from anonymity to say that I found you most entertaining as Dr. Leda, then found you again in the midst of chemo. Stayed by to silently cheer you on through heartbreak. Now you've become a character that I care about and look daily to see if you're up or down. You have grit; the jenny pigs will understand, or they don't deserve you.

Seriously, take care of yourself first. Withdrawal of any form sucks. Good luck and good luck with the thumb thing too.

Don't worry about us feckless out here. We are trouping along

One of the feckless checking in here to say don't worry about us! I'm personally having enough to do just working on understanding fitday.com.

I am sorry you have to go through this shit, and I hope it comes to the best and soonest end possible. I'm sending positive thoughts your way in the meantime. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

The song reminds me of American Idol last year when they kicked off the contestants (yes, I know). I'm taking Cymbalta now, but I think I'll be on it indefinitely. It's been doing the job for me, and the alternative is sucky. I am so sorry the withdrawal is so rough for you!

There is this blogger called Spotted Elephant who has been doing Cymbalta withdrawal for a while now. It sounds bad. Why do they market these drugs as non addictive? I took something that turned out to be morphine for a whole month for my Broken Arm, and didn't get withdrawal from stopping, and it was a controlled substance ... do they warn people about Cymbalta?

Hey, Dr. Z-

Yeah, I was aware that withdrawal was going to be tough, and I also knew that I myself am particularly susceptible to bad withdrawal experiences. But I decided to take the stuff anyway because the debilitating neuropathy pain was wrecking my life and it was a choice of six months of that vs. two weeks withdrawal agony. I went for the instant gratification.

Oh and I love Spotted Elephant. Those rabbits look exactly like Superman!

P.S. Let us know when your business is up and running, OK? I missed the chance to become a guinea pig but could be a client later on, whenever. Now I have to coach myself and this makes me less consistent. And I just discovered all my weights were way too light.
